Motivation Clothes
I am starting an internship in the winter of 2011. I have to purchase a whole new wardrobe of "professional" clothing. I am determined to lose weight prior to spending all this money on new clothes professional clothing is not cheap and some of the cute styles are not flattering on my current body shape. The blazers and jackets and pencil skirts all make me look like a giant box. I can't wait to shed the pounds and go on a guiltfree shopping spree though!
Another goal that is hard for me to imagine is being at the beach in a bathing suit. For the past 4 years I have sat on the shore in a cover up, burning in the sun just longing to jump in the water but letting my insecurities get the best of me. It seems unfathomable that I could ever strut along the beach in a bikini. but I'm determined to reach it some day.
A vintage party dress that I bought for $5 at the thrift store because it was too beautiful to pass up, although it is about a size 12 and I am a size 20. I have no idea where I would actually wear this dress however the day I fit into it I might just wear in anywhere and everywhere I go that day, regardless of whether it's even remotely appropriate. =)
The other is a killer pair of jeans that I found for $2 new at a store that was going out of business. Those jeans are a size 14.
I can't wait to fit into either one of them.
I also have a new pair of jeans in size 20, 18 and 16 that I bought on super sale on Boxing Day knowing that I was going to lose the weight in 2011. Those are my count down clothes.
I've already posted once, and I said that my motivation clothes are the clothes I bought a couple years ago. Then I realized, I wasn't happy with myself back then. So I've went out and found some other things I've never been able to wear and look good in, unless I make them myself. (I use to sew a lot . . )(I've never been able to fit in any sweetlolita dress that's been premade on a site like so. Most of the time, they don't make anything to fit me at all, or if I find something big enough, it's too long and baggy in other areas, you know how it is.)(I love the steampunk fashion type stuff. Absolutely love it. Secretly, I wish I could look like the model/maker there, but at the same time, it's sort of unhealthyfreaky looking [not to offend anybody, but I've given up the habit of sugarcoating things, har har]. I'm not that tall either. Huff puff.)
So those are the clothes that motivate me. And of course there are the skinnyfitted longsleeve shirts I wanna be able to wear without worrying about my bra making back fat obvious.
My girlfriends every 6 or so months do a clothes swap. Everyoneclears there closets of the stuff that is in great shape but say no longer fits or they just never wear or whatever. Rules are must be in great shape but any size and accesories are good too. We all swap stuff around. So my favorite dressy outfit when I was heavy is now going to my friend who is wearing it to a wedding ect. Different folks get different things but we all have a glass of wine and it is like shiopping for free with a bunch of friends and since we are all different sizes and styles it is a great little swap. At the last swap there was everything from costumje necklaces to coach bags to jeans(I love the steampunk fashion type stuff. Absolutely love it. I love that you posted this (although I agree she might not be the healthiest of examples) My bf and I both love the steampunk look and we have quite a few projects on our list to make some accessories and whatnot. I have always loved the idea of one pieces, classy but can still be sexy, and they are one of the few companies I think that make nice looking one pieces! I often go on their website and look at their bathing suit collection, to help motivate me. I don't want to buy one now because they are quite expensive (bathing suits are expensive period!) haha but I don't know what size I will be and I don't want to spend that kind of money on one before I know what size I will be when I feel comfortable wearing it.
Right now I have a favourite pair of jeans waiting to be fit into! I should only have to lose 20 lbs to fit into those, so that will be like a mini goal motivation piece.
With that said, my best friend and I are both trying to lose weight, and we are planning to go on a full out shopping spree when we both reach our goals. She is going to be waiting for me for a while because she doesn't have nearly the amount of weight that I have to lose, but either way when the time comes it will be a tonne of fun! We are planning to set aside 8001000 dollars for a whole new wardrobe, I can't wait!
I tried on a pair of my boyfriends jeans. which are 34s.
Six months ago I couldn't even pull them up my thighs.
About a week and a half ago I tried them on again. I had to lay down and suck everything in (and do that odd "hip lift and wiggle" move"
But those little bastrds fit! Lmao.
Ok, Ok. I couldn't breath, I swear the button was practically squishing through my gut and into my spine. but I BUTTONED THEM!!!!
I was afraid to stand up off the floor. And I'm sure it looked pretty gross (picture when you grab your stomach and squish it together to make your bellybutton to look like a mouth. like that. but worse because it's like all squished up.)
